MISSION STATEMENT : Our Mission at Hickory Water Polo Club is to empower Northwest Indiana water polo players by teaching entry-level skills for all ages and instilling life lessons in athletes through team competition. We aim to equip them with the skills for lifelong success and provide a positive, competitive environment for a quality water polo experience.Hickory Water Polo Club was formed in late 2023, the Hickory Water Polo Club was established by Chris Mulcrone and Tammy Stelnicki, to introduce club water polo to Northwest Indiana. Chris's father and Tammy Stelnicki's grandfather James Moose Mulcrone, coached water polo in the Chicagoland area for over 40 years and is a member of the International Water Polo Hall of Fame. Jim Mulcrone helped develop the current water polo in the Midwest region. Chris has been involved in water polo since early childhood (age 4), accumulating beyond 40 years of experience. He has played all Levels, coached at the high school and youth levels, officiated, and managed the day-to-day operations of a water polo club.Tammy has more than 20 years of water polo experience, starting at age 5 with the Chicago Aquatic Polo Club and the Chicago Park District. She excelled at Saint Ignatius College Prep, and she continued her collegiate career at Arizona State University as a D1 athlete which allowed her to play alongside world-class athletes and learn from the best. Currently, she is actively coaching in the IHSA as an assistant coach and playing professionally for the Nashville Channel Cats.
