Christopher Mulcrone
Chris has been involved in water polo since childhood, accumulating over 40 years of experience. He has played at the collegiate level, coached and officiated at high school and youth levels. In High School as three-sport athlete, Christopher was Team Captain of the Brother Rice Football, Swimming, and Water Polo Teams, chalking up numerous awards and accolades in all three sports.
On the gridiron, Chris was named Lineman of the Year, earning All-Catholic League honors, Southtown All-Area honors, and Star Newspaper Defensive Player of the Year, to go along with his Prep Bowl Championship in 1994.
Even more adept in the water than on the field, the All-American, four-year Letterman in Swimming led Brother Rice to four State meets and its first-ever Catholic Championship.
In Water Polo, Chris was named All-American, Illinois Player of the Year, First-Team All-State, and Lawless Award Winner, continuing to make the family name proud as he led the Crusaders to a Chicago Catholic League titles and two State Championships in 1994 and 1995, on top of a State Runner Up and a Final Four appearance the previous two years.
Chris continued his water polo career at the East Coast powerhouse, Slippery Rock University (SRU), where he was a member of the 1995 Rock University and was the leading score. Chris carried on the family tradition when he came back to coach alongside his father the legendary Moose Mulcrone and his brothers. Chris lives in the Beverly neighborhood with his wife of 14 years, Nicole (CWAC swim coach); his daughter, Delaney; and his sons, Charlie and Conor who all play for CAPC.
