Summer Water Polo at Hickory

Summer Water Polo at Hickory is underway for junior high and high school boys and girls. Practices will be held Mondays 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM and Wednesdays from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. We will also host a pop-up Water Polo session on Sundays at Oak Street Beach from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

This summer, we will be attending three tournaments:

• Summer Fest in Indianapolis — June 13 weekend

• Windy City Wind Up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago — June 27

• Great Lakes Classic — July 11

In addition, there is an opportunity to attend the Santa Barbara University Camp in California during the week of July 28 through July 31, with a possible tournament the following weekend in California.

League games will be held on Tuesdays, starts June 23 , 2026 Need a team for KAP 7 Beach Water Polo is a fast-paced, 4v4, or 3v3-plus-goalie version of traditional water polo played in open water ( Lake Michigan at Oak St. Beach North Ledge) on a smaller 16mx10m field. Played with shorter, continuous matches ( best of 4 quarters with 5 min running clock per quarters with Golden ball winner if needed. Beach Water Polo focuses on individual skill, intense action, using an inflatable course and Jr. sized goals.. The League will run 10 weeks , 16 games plus playoffs with 12 team tournament, plus two play in games. All teams make post season. Teams will have 10 players 3 of them must be female.
